The growers from PaprikaNL are responsible for about 294 ha of sustainably grown peppers. This is 25% of the total Dutch pepper acreage and is spread over growing areas throughout the whole country.
The growers from PaprikaNL are members of the FresQ freshconneqt PaprikaXL collective for the sale of their production. It is a tightly-knit club of growers who have evolved into modern and well-managed companies. The skilled growing, sorting and packing processes are carried out at the companies by the best possible method. They want to be recognised as the best and most reliable suppliers of peppers and they focus on the customers who believe that quality, food safety and delivery certainty goes without saying.
Growers cooperation FresQ u.a.
Growers cooperative FresQ is the 2nd largest growers association in The Netherlands. With 76 members, FresQ represents more than 740 hectares and a wide range of greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, chillies and cucumbers, with tomatoes and peppers representing the main product categories. With a progressive approach content is given to production, packaging and sales of the products. Direction throughout the chain and shortening of the chain leads to delivery of high quality products, following the demands of the customer. The aim of FresQ is to create an optimum market position for her members through intensive cooperation and sustainable and market-oriented production.
The organisation was founded in 2001 and was formed by a number of growers’ groups who sought to reinforce one another by joining forces. Together, the members of FresQ achieved an annual turnover of € 480 million in 2010.
Organisation structure
FresQ holds office in De Lier and has six Operating Sales companies. FresQ is a cooperative association that carries out tasks for her members and Operating Sales companies, such as sales and marketing, acting as representatives, (financial) administration, IT, quality, food-safety and several (subsidy) projects. The sale of the products of the members is directed by FresQ. Through the Operating Sales companies FresQ is able to meet de demands of the various marketsegments and target sectors in the most optimal way.
